Real Estate Law
We are engaged in a broad range of commercial real estate transactions, with particular emphasis on real estate financing, leasing and mortgage financing. The firm's commercial leasing work involves representing both landlords and tenants. In addition, we represent clients in the purchase and sale of commercial properties and in real estate development.
Because of the cyclical nature of the real estate industry, our firm has gained broad expertise in the restructuring and workout of real estate loans. Our representation includes institutional lenders and investors with problem loans, developers experiencing financial challenges, and owners of distressed properties.
Just as the proper structuring of a real estate transaction requires keen business awareness, negotiating a successful workout or restructuring demands sound, practical judgment based on extensive experience and familiarity with available remedies, defensive strategies and procedural alternatives. Recognizing this fact, we focus on providing clients with "real world" advice and positive results.
We also act as legal counsel to investors, developers and operators with respect to real estate transactions, including the structuring of like-kind exchanges, financing arrangements involving secured and unsecured debt, and limited partnerships and other equity capital financing.
Besides counseling clients on real estate transactions from simple to complex, we assist in real estate negotiations and in the preparation of commercial leases, acquisition and/or development contracts, loan documents, management agreements, operating agreements, partnership agreements, and reciprocal easements.
